Go Vote

Yes, that’s right.  I voted today.  By email actually.  I was quite impressed with the Utah County Elections office.  Just as I was cursing them for making me print off an absentee ballot application form and mail it to them, only to have them mail me back a ballot, which I would then have to fill out and mail back to them, I got on the phone today to find out why they never mailed me anything as they said they would, and they told me I could vote by email.  Yes!  So, I did.  They emailed me a ballot and I emailed back my vote.  It was awesome.  And since I already waived my right to a secret ballot by sending my vote through the internets, I may as well tell you all that I voted for Chuck Baldwin for President, Jim Noorlander for US House & Jon Huntsman for Governor.  I had planned deliberately not to vote for any Republicans or Democrats in this election, but I changed my mind when I saw that the only third party candidate on the ballot for Utah State Governor was Dell ‘Superdell’ Schanze (Yes, that’s actually how his name is printed on the ballot).  Plus, I quite like Jon Huntsman, and I can easily overlook his party affiliation, if it means not having a certified whack-job as Governor.  I also voted for Doug Baxter for Utah House, even though he’s a Democrat, because he’s awesome.

Anyway, for all you suckers who don’t live in the middle of nowhere and don’t get to vote via email, please don’t forget to vote tomorrow.  I think Craig Ferguson put it best, in one of his recent monologues, when he said, “if you don’t vote, you’re a moron!”  Plus, if you don’t vote, you don’t get to complain about who wins.

  1. Good for you! I’m impressed and scared that they will allow an e-mail ballot to be cast. Had I known that previously, I would have spoofed all the e-mails and stolen your votes for the candidates of MY choosing. “All your votes are belong to us. You are on the way to destruction. You have no chance to survive make your time. Ha ha ha ha ha.”

  2. Right on! Nice votes! I’m in total agreement with what you said regarding voting – if you don’t do it, don’t complain!
